I woke up at 6 in the morning to get to this beach. I waited in the dark for about 45 minutes for the sun to come up. The layout of this piece of coast is very confusing in the dark. This is a little cove about half a mile long, the beach I wanted to go to was an the other side of a huge cliff to my left. But I managed two shots from here that I like. It was pouring down rain the whole time. In an attempted to keep my camera dry I used the sleeve of my jacket to go around the lens and the rest of the jacket to cover the camera body and my head as I went to shoot. I was hoping for a clearing in the sky, but I was rarely so lucky on this trip.
In this shot I took some photos with the foreground completely white, and some with the reflection. I decided to go with the reflections because the frame is already white enough, and the reflections added more interest in my opinion.
This beach is roughly 10 miles North of Eureka, CA.
