Here is another shot from Chimney Beach. This is one of those long exposure shots that seems to have become cliche here on dA. But I really love this shot, and how everything came together in this shot. The clouds hid the sun just perfectly and the wind caused these waves, and the long exposure worked well here. There is still some detail in the water, and it isn't a complete blur.

I used a CPL, 2 neutral density filters, and 2 graduated neutral density filters stacked on top of each other. A few shots prior to this shot I discovered that my 2 58mm ND filters have a purple/red cast to them, and that when I use my two GND filters stacked I get a bit of cast as well. So in this shot I decided to use my 2 55 NDs which don't give that cast, but I still had to deal with the cast from the GNDs, luckily for me it worked in this scene.

Editing this photo was difficult because I had to try to control the noise. This was a 13 second exposure, and on my Nikon d40 long exposures are killer. So much noise is introduced in the photo when ever I go past 4 or 5 seconds. I applied a noise reduction layer (I have never used this tool before so I dont really know how it works).
